Gangs for Jesus by Thomas Rembert Jr. instructs believers about finding solutions for secular problems and keeping up the faith to win the good fight.
Secularism is the greatest enemy of faith today, having successfully convinced today’s youth to rethink their roots, turn their backs on the church and abandon their beliefs in God. This is a great exodus from moral standards into the chaos of post-modernist subjectivity.
It is the belief in God that strengthens and reinforces our individual moral strength, so when we renounce our belief in Him, we are also throwing away the greatest standard for acting good.
Where do we go from there, then? What happens when a flock rejects the shepherd?
The defeat of secularism cannot happen without faith. It is imperative that we, as believers in the current age, keep up with the good fight and do all we can to diminish the creeping influence of secularism in our communities and our neighborhoods. It is especially necessary that we do all we can to keep the brainwashing methods of the secularists from the minds of our youths.
How Secularism Rose into Influence
Before you fight the enemy, you should first learn of its origins and how it came about. While secularists will say that theirs is not a religion, it absolutely is. It has a dogma, a set of governing institutions to teach the faith, and a figurehead.
And like most religions, it is a useful tool to control the minds of their believers and sway those at the periphery. This is because it is only through religion that individuals find actual purpose and true meaning in their lives. Without religion, everyone is left to flounder under the apathy of the universe and to be lured into the devil’s grasp and be convinced to conduct wanton sin.
Secularism is a recent phenomenon, a dogma that originated and evolved from the fickle needs and demands of modern society. This is the tragedy of things. We are slowly now adapting to the changing world, but for a long time in our history, we believers were content and made lazy and unaware. We could not adapt, and this is why secularism took root and eventually took hold over everything.
You see, dear reader, Christianity was spread across the world, and it seemed like everything was acting accordingly, but it is precisely this perception of superiority that blinded us to the growing needs of a modern population. We could not change our ways quickly, and so we were pulled down from our pedestal.
Modern people have modern problems, and so they require modern answers. We could’ve met these needs, but sadly the church leaders of yesteryear did not have the vision of today.
It is saddening to know about and disheartening, but we should not wade too deeply into sorrow and forget that bliss awaits us because this is not the end. We would not be Christian if we thought so.
Like we were promised the Second Coming, so too are we promised eventual triumph. And to do that, we need to be keeping up the faith and start pushing for the Good Fight.
What Is The Good Fight
The struggle for Christianity is not a new one. When Christ first began his earthly ministry, he was hounded on all sides by the Romans, the Pharisees, and the tempting forces of evil. Yet, he and his Twelve Apostles and all his disciples persisted and triumphed wonderfully.
Through the many works of the Twelve Apostles and their many, many disciples, the Word of Christ was spread across all four corners of the globe, and it looked like all nations were ready to sing His praises.
Of course, that was not meant to be. At least, not then.
Why am I saying all of this?
Simple. It is a reminder that we have always been struggling and that struggle is part of being Christian. If nothing were before us, would we have been believers? Hard to say.
Keeping Up with the Faith
While secularism is very appealing to today’s youth, it is important that we believers teach them the dangers and the negative consequences of its spread and influence.
A Revelation of Life Endeavors: Gangs for Jesus by Thomas Rembert Jr. instructs believers about finding solutions for secular problems and keeping up the faith to win the good fight.
Confronting secularism means restoring the faith of the youth and reigniting their passion and service for the church. This must include propping up the most important ideas of sin, virtue, and the development of principles that are molded according to modern circumstances while still following the precepts found in scripture.
